- Testing Experience with at least 2 years as a Test Automation lead
- Proficient in automated tools, with a focus on the HP/Mercury product suite, including: WinRunner, Quick Test Pro, Loadrunner and Test Director
- Strong WinRunner and QuickTest Pro scripting experience required
- Must be proficient with automation processes and practices
- Solid understanding of the Rational Unified Process and/or similar software development life cycle methodologies
- Proficient in building automation environments including: Installing hardware, installing operating systems, installing automation tools, configuring hardware and network configuration & troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of current Windows O/S, including installing, configuring, and basic operations
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work with multiple product teams
- Conversion experience from Win Runner to QuickTest Pro is a plus
Job function
- Day to day management of a global team of automation test engineers
- Technical leadership to the automation team
- Work with quality assurance managers/leads to plan and schedule test cycles
- Creation, execution & report on automation test plans
- Maintaining and improving the automation framework used by the automation team
- Maintaining Automation Test scripts for assigned products
- Reviewing change requests, analyzing impact to development cycle, and implementation of necessary changes to accommodate requests
- Coordinating and planning script hand off and training, assist with automation execution as needed
- Working with teams to resolve automation run time and script problems
- Creating and maintaining datasets and database environments required for Automation tests
- Maintaining automation hardware and software license inventory
- Participating in regular reviews of the project, and provide regular project updates to quality assurance management
- Reviewing automation scripts as required
- Ensuring quality and completeness of team deliverables
- Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, proven leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly motivated, hands on personality
